The expected surge in COVID cases started yesterday, with Franklin County reporting 77 new cases over the weekend, bringing our active case count to 186, with five hospitalizations and 64 pending test results. Interim Health Director, Nick Robbins, says as the expected surge in positive cases increases this week, the number of cases is more than likely higher than they are seeing due to lack of tracing in other counties:
Officials are urging people to continue to wear masks, socially distance, avoid large gatherings and wash hands frequently. The surge this week and next is related to large family gatherings over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
