Because of the ongoing COVID pandemic, the Ottawa Municipal Court has stopped all In-Person appearances. During this time, no warrants will be issued by the Court for someone who fails to appear. According to a release from the Ottawa Police Department, Court Staff, the City Prosecutor and the Ottawa Police will continue to do everything they can to resolve cases by phone or email. They ask that people pay all fines and fees online.

For those with outstanding Warrants, the Court will give discretion to law enforcement, that they may execute the Warrant and have a person taken into custody or just obtain that persons information and send them a Notice To Appear after February 3rd, 2021.

Officers will still arrest an individual for offenses when they feel that the safety of the individual or the Community is at risk.
