The Ottawa Police Department has been able to hire some new officers that have grown up locally, or have close ties to the area. Police Chief Adam Weingartner introduced three of those officers to the City Commission, including Eric Moore:
The other officers are former OU football player, Fred Doud and, Ottawa High School Public Safety Program Graduate, Jacob Richards. Weingartner says the Ottawa Police have been able to recruit and hire a number of quality officers, despite the National trend that saw law enforcement agencies losing officers.
