The Ottawa Police Department, in partnership with the Ottawa High School “Law, Public Safety and Security” or LPSS, program has announced the hiring of the first Police Cadet. This morning, Cadet Audrey Hook, officially began her duties. Hook graduated from Ottawa High in May and attends Neosho County Community College, studying Criminal Justice. The Police Cadet Program is a Professional Development Partnership between Ottawa High School, through the LPSS program, with a goal of providing an opportunity for a high school students interested in Law Enforcement to learn all aspects of policing, obtain a College Degree, debt free and be hired as a full time officer with the Ottawa Police.
