U. S. Senator Jerry Moran says he won’t support an effort to block the certification of President Elect Joe Biden’s victory this week, saying the effort by some of his Republican Colleagues “would risk undermining our Democracy”. Moran, who acknowledged Biden’s victory in November, will be the only Kansas Republican not to lodge an objection when both Houses of Congress meet Wednesday to Certify the Electoral College results.
U. S. Senator Roger Marshall and Kansas’ three Republicans in the U. S. House of Representatives say they will object to the vote counts in certain swing states. Moran says he won’t join his Republican Colleagues, stating the U. S. Constitution limits the powers of Congress in handling the tallying of the Electoral College votes. Moran says the Democracy is built upon the Rule Of Law and Separation of Powers. No victory for one’s cause today can be worth what we would lose tomorrow.
