Ottawa saw a nice reduction in the overall crime rate this past year, over 12%. Vehicle theft and burglary were down significantly. Police Chief Adam Weingartner says he realizes it will be tough to keep reducing crime at that rate, but there is one way that people can help:
He adds it is important to not only lock your cars, but park in a well lit area, if possible, and keep outdoor lights on. All these will make it less likely for someone to vandalize or burglarize your vehicle
