More changes to the Garnett Recreation Department are in store We learned last week that the Recreation Director’s Office will be moved to the Rec Center, in hopes of making it easier for people to find and, allow the Center to be open more hours, particularly in the Summer months
They are also looking at the way they are structuring the Rec Center Fees. One thing that has been proposed, is including any of the classes they offer, in the membership, meaning no separate fees for classes.
The Rec Center is also expanding the role of Health and Wellness Program Director Sammi Jo Peine. She will be offering more fitness and Well Being Classes to improve the overall recreation experience for those coming to the Center. She will continue to offer Personal Training for those desiring one on one attention. Expanding her role will also allow the doors to remain open for those who are not members.
One last thing, the Rec Center is now offering camping reservations online. You’ll be able to reserve those special sites 24 hours a day. This should eliminate confusion and stop accidental double bookings of the same spot.
