A LSD fueled argument, over how to treat a blind dog, allegedly led to the shooting that left an Ottawa woman on the ground, at the scene, for half an hour before help arrived. Twenty six year old Joshua Evans of rural Greeley, was arraigned last week o charges of Felony Aggravated Battery and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. On the evening of March 31st, Meagan Currant, of Ottawa, told officers they were both high on LSD and argued about the dogs’ treatment. The argument intensified, she decided to leave and walked toward the door of a garage when she heard the gun shot and fell through the door, landing outside.
A while later, Evans’ father arrived and took her to his home in Lane, cleaned her wounds, gave her fresh clothing and she showered. The following morning, they took Currant to Advent Health Ottawa. Franklin County Deputies were notified and word sent to Anderson County. Evans was awaiting hearings on Felony Drug charges and had bonded out of Anderson County Jail at the time of the shooting.
A Status Hearing will be held May 25th. He is presently being held in the Anderson County Jail.
