With the incident on Sunday involving a taser and the series of incidents recently involving police officer involved in deadly shootings, including the officer in Minnesota who intended to pull her taser on a suspect, but mistakenly pulled her gun, killing the suspect, there has been an affect of local law enforcement. Ottawa Police chief, Adam Weingartner says officers undergo special training to try to avoid such an accidental shooting:
