The Garnett Air Fair will be held in conjunction with the Square Fair this coming weekend. One thing different this year will be a very special tribute, to honor Gary Ecclefield’s legacy. The Advisory Board for the Garnett Industrial Airport will honor the Life and Legacy of former Airport Manager Gary Ecclefield, Saturday.
He worked as Airport Manager from 2009 to 2020. Before that, he served on the initial Garnett Airport Advisory Board, established in 1998. He was heavily involved in the airports Master Plan.
His love for flying began in the early 90’s. He liked model airplanes and really enjoyed taking trips in is own Cessna airplane. Current manager, Pat Schettler, would like everyone to recognize Ecclefield’s contributions at the Air Fair.
The Air Fair will be held from 8;00 to 1:00 Saturday and include a fly-in, airplane rides, static displays of aircraft, military vehicles and much more.
