The City of Paola wants to make a big impact on local sporting events and they are asking local residents to help them determine the future of sports facilities at Wallace Park. They are asking people to participate in the Paola Sports Complex Survey. It’s all part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan Update, headed by a consulting firm. It is available online and in print.
City Officials say they want to fully understand current and future needs and demands for outdoor youth sports facilities. Volunteers have met with the City and presented options for improvements that could be funded by a half cent sales tax renewed by voters; however, a portion of that tax will be used to repair and update the Paola Family Pool and some street repairs.
