This week is National Police Week, and one major purpose is to pay tribute to those who died in the line of duty. At the regular Franklin County Commission Meeting, Sheriff Jeff Richards talked about one of the local fallen officers, Sam Smith:
Smith was killed in a car crash in July 2010 while responding to an emergency call.
