More bad guys are trying to scam you out of your money. EVERGY has received reports of individuals placing phone calls to customers and claiming to be EVERGY representatives. They tell the customer a check has bounced, or he/she has a past due bill. Imposters will often ask customers to use a prepaid card for payment. … and a reminder, call the Customer Contact Center at EVERGY before giving any information and ask for the representatives official ID. If you cannot verify the person is from EVERGY, do not give any information.
