The Connect Mobile Food Pantry in Ottawa is a cooperation between the Franklin County Food Policy, ECKAM and Ottawa High School. Every other week, students at OHS prepare boxes of food and volunteers distribute it to locations across the county. Organizer Amanda Stinebaugh says the impact has been dramatic:
Seventeen volunteers have served over 14,000 people in six townships. Stinebaugh says nearly 1,500 students have helped with the project over the past two years and the pantry has formed 15 partnerships in acquiring food and funding for the distribution. The next distribution is set for Tuesday. If you would like, or need food, call 785-222-0848 to register.
