With the water receding on the Marais Des Cygnes River, that doesn’t mean the job is done for city crews. They have been working around the clock since Sunday night, to assure the levy and gates are doing their job and, working to break up a massive log jam. Public Works Director Michael Haeffele gave an update on the river and the flood gates, at this morning’s City Commission Meeting:

He adds that two crews have been working 12 hour shifts each, watching the levy for boils or other problems and, attempting to clear debris on both bridges.
