A water rescue earlier in the week in Franklin County came about when a motorist made the decision to try to drive through a flooded road. by the time they realized the water was too deep, it was too late and they were stuck in the middle. Multiple first response agencies were involve in rescuing the person from the top of their vehicle. EMS Director, Nick Robbins, said just because there is no barricade, doesn’t mean it’s safe:
Flash flooding is the leading cause of weather related deaths in the U. S. and over 50% of flood related drownings are vehicle related. A very good reason to follow one basic rule: Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
