Summer Break has arrived for the students in Osawatomie and, you know what that means! The swimming pool is opening! The USD 367 Family Aquatics Park is set to open today at noon and the cool thing? Students enrolled in Osawatomie Schools this year, swim free! That’s Right, Free, thanks to the Allen and Gladys Hawkins Charitable Foundation. Masks are not required at the Osawatomie Pool. The Aquatic Park hours are noon to 8:00 Monday through Thursday, noon to 6:30 on Friday, noon to 5:30 on Saturday, and 1:00 to 5:30 Sunday.
The Louisburg Aquatic Center will open for the season, Memorial Day Weekend, with operations mostly resembling those in place prior to COVID 19. Concession stand sales will return this year, as will deck chairs. The water fountains will be open and lockers will be available for daily rental. High touch surfaces, including deck chairs, will be sanitized once daily. Swimmers are asked to shower prior to entering the water. Signage will remind people not to enter the facility if they are experiencing COVID-like symptoms.
