A structure fire at 414 East 8th in Wellsville yesterday morning damaged a home. Crews responding to the call reported heavy black smoke and flames coming from the single-story structure. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including an engine from Ottawa. Johnson County also sent personnel and equipment to assist in fighting the fire.
Few details are known at this time, such as the cause of the fire and the damage done to the structure; however, the Red Cross was called in to assist the family that lived in the home. KOFO will provide details as they become available.
