USDA has announced huge investment to improve the resiliency and support of our Nation’s Emergency Food System. The plan calls for a half billion dollars for food purchases under the Emergency Food Assistance Program. USDA’s Deputy Under Secretary, Stacy Dean:
She adds that the investment also calls for $400 million in aid to purchase food from socially disadvantaged farmers and $100 million more to reach communities that are underserved when it comes to food distribution.
