Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner asked for support from the City Commission in regard to a Grant from the Community Oriented Policy, or, COPS Agency. The Chief explained what The Grant would do:
He added that it would also provide special training to address specific needs experienced in our community. Speaker pro tem, Blaine Finch, provided support on the State level, Senator Jerry Moran on the Federal level. The Commission voted unanimously to support the Grant process to provide an extra officer.
