With early voting now open, one of the elections on the ballot in Miami County will be the race for positions on the Paola USD 368 Board of Education. Position Two has two candidates: Incumbent Scott Golubski is being challenged by Frederick Potter and Michael Yocum. The Miami County Republic asked the candidates a series of questions. Golubski says his top priority will be continued safe operations of the school and to increase technical education programs. Potter says his top priority is accountability to the students, staff and taxpayers. Yokum says his priority will be to work to provide elective classes that help with individual needs and dreams and help them think for themselves.

Position Four, Incumbent Kelly Frank is being challenged by Connor McDonald. Frank says her number one goal will be come up with ways to close the learning gaps the students have experienced during the pandemic, along with staff shortages.
