Osawatomie Mayor, Mark Govea and City Council Member, Nick Hampson, face each other in the race for Osawatomie Mayor in the November 2nd election. Govea says his top priority is to continue the five shared goals of the community. He says the city is on a roll right now with the “Pave the Way” initiative for the streets and the proposed revitalization of the downtown area, the Oz Commons Project. He would like to be a part of seeing the projects through.
Hampson says his top priority is also the continued clean up of Osawatomie, as well as fixing infrastructure and streets. He says attracting new businesses and growing existing business is important to him. He wants to represent the wants and needs of the people of Osawatomie and is committed and invested in the community.
