After the drugs are collected, they will be turned over to the DEA for disposal. The service is free and anonymous. Locally, the Ottawa Police Department will have a drop off location in their lobby. Last year they collected over 50 pounds of discarded medication. The Franklin County Sherriff’s office will also have a collection site at the jail building at 3rd and Main.
