Quite an honor for the Wellsville Library. The Kansas Library Association has named them the Best Small Public Library in Kansas for 2021! The Wellsville Library stood out from all the other small towns because it offers so many different programs to the community. There is always something fun to do. They offer Storytime, a Lego Club and a Summer Reading Program for youth and adults.
One thing the Library really stood our for is offering broad resources to those who home school. This aspect came in handy during the past couple years in dealing with the pandemic.
Every year the Kansas Library Association awards a library that serves less than 5,000 people. A ceremony will take place this weekend in Wichita. The Wellsville facility will receive $500 from the software company, Auto Graphics,a plaque and banner to display at the Library
This past Summer, the Library received $150,000 from the Sunderland Foundation to assist with the future library addition, which will include a children’s area, larger meeting rooms, additional storage, bathrooms and a full kitchen.
