Osawatomie’s Annual Spook Parade this afternoon was expected to draw more than 500 kids fully dressed in their Halloween costumes in Downtown Osawatomie. The parade began at 4:30. Kids lined up in front of City Hall, with the parade line spreading east. The parade was led by the Osawatomie High School and Middle School Band. The Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce, says with COVID still being a factor, the event was to be pretty basic this year. There won’t be any games at the Auditorium, but the kids stuck around after the Parade for trick-or-treat at downtown businesses.
Paola’s traditional Halloween parade around Park Square will take place on Sunday. Kids and their family members, all dressed in costume, will start on Peoria Street between Pearl and Agat Street at 5:00. Judging of the costumes will take place and the parade will begin right after. You might want to come early, because Roselda the witch is back! She will be in the Park Square Gazebo from 4:00 to 5:00, making her special witches brew and telling a story to everyone who wants to listen.
