It’s Election Day 2021 and while many people voted early, many more will be out today at the Polling Stations to vote for the candidates they would like to see in office. Ottawa City Manager, Richard Nienstedt gives his thought on the importance of local elections:
Ottawa Residents have two different items on the Ballot, where three seats each will be decided. For the USD 290 School Board, three seats are available with two incumbents running to retain their seats: Linda Alderman and Chris Cunningham. Four challengers are Jerry Reed, Brian Kane, Glendy Spigle and Kelly Graves.
The Ottawa City Commission has three seats up for grabs with incumbents Mike Skidmore and Eric Crowley running, plus challengers Aaron Miller, Emily Graves, Zach Clayton, Jacob Michael, John Griffin and Jerry Lear.
The Polls are open for two more hours. Get out and vote today. Make your voice heard. KOFO will have live coverage of Election Results tonight as the results come in.
