Two big races in the Election yesterday. the USD 290 School Board and the Ottawa City Commission race. the School board has two new members. Glendy Spigle and Kelly Graves won spots on the Board of Education, Incumbent Chris Cunningham was reelected to his Post. Leaving the Board will be Incumbent Lynda Alderman who finished in fourth place, only three votes behind Graves. The breakdown of votes is as follows: Graves at 658, Alderman with 655,Brian Kane with 528 and Jerry Reed with 453.

the Ottawa City Commission saw two Incumbents re-elected. Both Mike Skidmore and Eric Crowley will return. the newcomer is Emily Graves who has previous experience on the City Commission. Skidmore received the most votes with 736, followed by Graves with 623 and Crowley with 610. Challenger Zach Clayton received 500, followed by Aaron Miller with 186, John Griffin with 162, Jerry Lear with 122, Bonnie Plumberg with 98 and Jacob Maichel with 60. The Ottawa City Commission may make a decision to add Emily Graves immediately to fill the spot vacated by Blake Jorgenson last month.
