The proposed 53 single family housing unit project at 1742 South Elm has come to an abrupt halt. During a marathon Ottawa City Commission Meeting last night, Commissioners heard a series of complaints from neighbors that the project was too dense, would cause environmental problems, among other things. After a prolonged listening and discussion session, the Commission was finally ready to take action. Commissioner Eric Crowley introduced a Motion to Deny the Re-Zone request that would have paved the way for the project:
