A new Municipal Demolition Assistance Program is being implemented by Franklin County to help cities in the demolition of dilapidated houses. Public Works Director, David Lee, says for the City of Ottawa, the program starts with the fourth structure that gets demolished:
For small cities, the threshold is one demolished structure. The program officially starts January first and will run for one year on a trial basis.
