The Ottawa Police Department is warning people about an increase in thefts out of vehicles. All of the cars have been unlocked. They know you have worked hard to find those perfect gifts this holiday season and don’t want them, or other things you own to fall into the hands of thieves.
There are some very easy things you can do to avoid becoming a victim of crimes of opportunity. Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner, explains the 9:00 p.m. routine:
Ottawa Police say that if you live between the north and south city limits and the east and west city limits, in other words…everywhere! You should lock your car at night and not leave anything of value unattended.
