A busy day and fun day in Garnett tomorrow! It’s time for the 50th Annual Garnett Christmas Parade and lighting ceremony. This year’s theme for the parade is :Golden Christmas Memories: 50 Years of Joy” The Grand Marshals of the 50th Parade are the Chris and Natasha Goetz family. The Goetz’s came to Garnett more than 11 years ago to take a post as Youth Pastors with the First Christian Church.
Tomorrow’s events include carolers, popcorn, hot cocoa, an appearance by Frosty the Snowman, musical entertainment by Carly Hicks, April Powels and Bryar Wright and much more. The Garnett Fire Department will have a soup and chili soup supper which begins at 4:30 Saturday afternoon, it is also the observance, by the local business community, of Small business Saturday, a promotion for the economic benefit of small towns by supporting locally owned businesses on the first official day of the 2021 Christmas Shopping Season.
