The Plaza Lighting Ceremony think they start the Christmas Season, but, oh no! Things don’t officially start until they throw the switch in Downtown Ottawa. The Annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade will take place in Downtown Ottawa tonight. Ottawa Chamber President John Coen tells us more:
There will be cookie decorating and ornament making, hot chocolate, Phil Messenger will do his famous reading of the Night Before Christmas with the kids all gathered around and, of course, a visit from Santa Claus himself, with photo opportunities. It all starts at 4:30 with the parade, then the magic happens as Downtown Ottawa lights up in a warm glow to start the Christmas celebration.
