A record breaking parade in front of a record breaking crowd in Downtown Garnett Saturday night. The beautiful weather made it easy for families to get out and enjoy the evening. The 50th Annual Garnett Area of Commerce Christmas Parade and Downtown Lighting did not disappoint. A huge parade and hundreds of people lining the streets for the Annual celebration to open the Christmas Season in Garnett. Businesses were open late and carolers sang Christmas songs throughout the area. Frosty the Snowman was on hand and parade goers were treated by an appearance by Ol’ St. Nick himself. A great turnout for the fire departments soup and chili supper before things got started, made for an incredible night.
A huge announcement by the “Cornstock Concert on the Hill “Organizers, They announced the headliners for the show will be Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye and Aaron Tippin. The “Roots and Boots” trio will be at Lake Garnett September 24th. Three more bands will be added to the line up and will be announced soon.
