A run-down house at 418 West First in Ottawa, is the focus of a number of people who are trying to figure out if the house is repairable. The structure was on the condemned list considered by the Ottawa City Commission. During a public hearing, the owner of the house, Toni DePaula, stepped up to speak:

A pastor from the church DePaula attends, is helping to try to get a contractor to fix the house. Local contractor, Rudy Manes, volunteered to donate materials for fixing the house floor, but he said the structure may be beyond repair. The City Commission voted to condemn the house but instructed DePaula to keep in touch with city officials with any possible plan for renovating the house.
