A run-down house at 418 West First Street in Ottawa is the intense focus of a group of people trying to figure out how to repair it. The house was approved by the Ottawa City Commission for condemnation. Pastor James Flecker is trying to help the owner, Toni Depaula, on renovating. Pastor Flecker says he just found out about the problem:
City officials say even though the house is condemned, there is still time for the owner to present a plan for renovation. If the plan is forthcoming, the City will not move forward with demolition, so long as work is progressing.
