Former Kansas Senator, Bob Dole, has died at the age of 98. Dole, a Veteran and War Hero from World War II, worked hard to pass legislation securing rights for the disabled. ABC’s Karen Travers, tells about his political life:
Kansas House Speaker, pro-tem, Blaine Finch, says Kansas lost one of its great Statesmen with Senator Dole. Finch says Dole was steadfast in his convictions; pragmatic in his ability to work with others; humble in victory and gracious in defeat; and throughout his life maintained a razor sharp sense of humor. He goes on to say Dole embodied our best qualities, a conservative who always believed in brighter days ahead. As Dole said, “things are going to get better. Be optimistic.”
