With the passing of former Kansas Senator bob Dole yesterday, many people are giving their thoughts and memories of Dole. Kansas Senator Jerry Moran said after Dole’s war injury, Kansans rallied around him and after his recovery, he remembered:
Moran added that Dole influenced him when he started in Congress and he requested the desk that Dole had used. Moran has become a Champion of Veterans rights, just as Dole was when he was in office.
Governor Kelly had ordered flags to be flown at half mast, in honor of Bob Dole, until sunset Thursday.
