The debate over whether Ottawa should ban pit bulls has surfaced from time to time and it has once again come to the forefront. During the Ottawa City Commission Study Session, Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner, told about a recent pit bull incident:
The Commission is trying to decide if the Breed Specific part of the Vicious Dog Ordinance, which bans put bulls, should be repealed. So far, several Commissioners appear to be against making any changes. It is unclear if the matter will come up at the December 15th meeting.
