This school year, the United Way has been running an after School Program that has benefitted dozens of students in the area, focusing on all kinds of activities, centered around science, technology, engineering, arts and math, commonly known as STEM. That may come to an end soon. United Way Director Leigh Hanson explains:
Hanson says the Grant also funded Summer activities. They did receive a smaller Grant from American Eagle that they will use to hold “STEM” days once a month to keep the kids actively engaged. If you would like to donate to the United way, in any way, whether it be monetarily or volunteering, give them a call on the hotline 211.
