Congratulations go out to the Spring Hill High School Marching Broncos. The band took a trip to Hawaii recently to march in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade and it was a memorable trip to say the least. Not only did they get to march in the parade on December 7th, along with about 20 other marching bands from throughout the Country but they were named Grand Champions of the Parade, claiming the top honor presented at the event. It was extra special because the parade was commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor that thrust the United States of America into World War II.

Band Director Daniel Wooge, who is a graduate of Ottawa High School, says they left on December 5th with 100 Spring Hill Band and Color Guard Members and about 20 parents. He says there were a lot of bands from much bigger schools from all around the Nation in the parade. The group was also able to see a lot of what Hawaii has to offer, including visits to the USS Missouri, USS Arizona, Macadamia Nut and Pineapple Plantations and general sightseeing spots around Honolulu.
