Early Monday morning, the Linn County Sheriff’s office received a call regarding a burglary at the First Baptist Church in Parker.
The caller stated the children’s Christmas presents had been stolen from within the church. A Linn County Deputy arrived a few minutes later and immediately started an investigation for evidence. The deputy located camera footage in the area. Based on camera footage from the location, it appears that at approximately 3:10 that morning, a vehicle entered the area of the church. Unfortunately, the camera footage is poor. The Linn County Sheriff posted a photo of a person of interest on their Facebook page; however, more camera footage from the Parker area is being viewed to determine if anything else may be located.
Treasurer of the Parker First Baptist Church, Rodney Clinton, says the incident is a real shame, saying that if the people who took the gifts needed help, all they had to do was ask. He says the church is always willing to assist families in need. The gifts that were stolen were to be delivered around the Parker area to children.
If you have any information regarding this burglary, the vehicle, or the person in the photo, you are asked to contact the Linn County Sheriff’s office or any other law enforcement agency.
