The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced approved bids for State Highway construction and maintenance projects. One project that will affect Franklin County motorists will be sealing a 13mile stretch of K-68 from the K-33 junction east to the Franklin County Line and from the Franklin/Miami County Line east to 169 Highway. Vance Brothers was awarded the project with a bid of just under $450,000.
Another in Osage County. Crews will replace a bridge over the south branch of Wakarusa Creek on South Hoch Road. That is about eight and a half miles west and three miles north of Carbondale. Reece Construction was awarded the project with a bid of just over $680,000.
No word on when that construction will start.
