Osage County Sheriff Deputies were involved in a pursuit yesterday that ended in the arrest of a Nebraska man. Yesterday afternoon, about 4:30, an Osage County Sheriff’s investigator was contacted by a citizen who was concerned about a possible impaired driver near Carbondale. The vehicle was located and, after multiple traffic infractions, the vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit began. Deputies deployed stop stick and the vehicle struck the tire-deflating device on K-31 Highway near Osage City, deflating some of the vehicle’s tires. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 600 block of Ellinwood Street in Osage City.
The driver of the vehicle, 42 year old Rogelio Garcia, of Omaha, Nebraska was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail Facility on suspicion of felony flee to elude, driving under the influence, battery on a law enforcement officer and multiple traffic infractions. The Osage County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Osage City Police Department.
