The winter weather played havoc on the roads, both Wednesday and Thursday and sent an Osawatomie man to the hospital. Wednesday morning, just after 7:00, 23 year old Casen Edwards of Osawatomie, was traveling eastbound in the 330 block of Cloud Road, when he lost control of his vehicle ,because of the icy conditions, went off the road and struck a utility pole, then struck a tree. Franklin County EMS arrived quickly to the scene and assessed Edwards injuries and he was transported by ambulance to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of the injuries he sustained in the crash. His vehicle was estimated to be a total loss. There were no further updates on the severity of his injuries.
