You’ve probably heard the news; but, the Ottawa Library has gone to ‘no fines’ for overdue materials. Library Director, Terry Chartier, told the Ottawa City Commission that no fines appears to increase library use:
Chartier says a ‘no fine’ policy especially helps lower income people to make use of the library. She says in lieu of a fine, patrons are blocked from checking out additional materials until late ones are returned.
