The man suspected of shooting another Ottawa man Saturday night, is behind bars this morning. Nineteen year old Cayson Wilson was booked into the Franklin County Jail early this morning on a charge of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Ottawa police responded to a call of a shooting just after 10:00 Saturday night, in the 500 block of North Hickory Street. Upon arrival they found 36 year old Ottawa man with a gunshot wound to the leg. The first officer on scene applied a tourniquet to the leg and provided first aid until medical staff from the Franklin County EMS and Ottawa Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a Kansas City area hospital. His name was not released. The suspect, Wilson, fled from the scene and was considered armed and dangerous. The case is still under investigation.
