Kansas is known as “the Wheat State”; but, this year’s winter wheat crop is in need of more than a little help. Farmers and producers recognize that moisture is a needed commodity right now; but, that’s just part of the story, as fertilizer prices have skyrocketed. Marsha Boswell of the Kansas Wheat Commission explains:

Wheat farmers are really feeling the cost crunch and many are putting off what would be normal top dressing applications and waiting and hoping for moisture soon.
