The U. S. Senate, yesterday, unanimously passed bipartisan legislation introduced by Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Ranking Member, Jerry Moran and Chairman Jon Tester, bringing it one step closer to law. Senator Moran speaking to the Senate:
Burn pits were used to incinerate all sorts of waste, hazardous material and chemical compounds at military sites throughout Iraq and Afghanistan. Eighty six percent of post 9/11 veterans, who served in Iraq or Afghanistan, say they were exposed to burn pits. The Legislation now moves to the House of Representatives for consideration.
