An Osawatomie woman faces multiple charges following a search warrant that was served on her residence in the 1100 block of Walnut, Tuesday afternoon. After securing the scene, Osawatomie Detectives conducted a search of the residence. They were looking into the wellbeing of four minor children who lived there. Forty five year old Tonya Byers was taken into custody and charged with contributing to a child’s misconduct, four counts of aggravated endangerment of a child, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia for ingestion and intent to distribute.
Osawatomie Police Chief, David Stuteville, thanked the Miami County EMS for their assistance and says the primary concern was the welfare of the four minor children and he feels the search warrant was a huge success in regard to the removal of one more problem residence in the Osawatomie community.
