Ottawa University Director of Athletics, Arabie Conner, announced Steven Paternostro as the Director of the Track and Cross-Country teams. Paternostro was selected for his ability to recruit at a high level, his aptitude, drive, versatility, creativity and constant ability to have a vision. Paternostro comes to OU with an impressive coaching and collegiate career. Most recently he was at Trine University as the Director of Admission for Engineering and Technology. Prior to Trine, he was the Assistant Women’s Track Coach at the University of Toledo. His first coaching job was at Alfred State University, where he led the Women’s Cross Country Team to the institution’s first ever Conference Championship. Also, he led the Men’s Cross Country Squad to back-to-back Conference Championships. Lastly, he was named Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018. Paternostro says he is “thrilled to be part of a very supportive and dynamic athletic department and can’t wait to plant his feet and take the Ottawa University program to even greater heights”.
